The Centerville Community Band has a rich history of performing in and around the Centerville, Ohio community
for over 35 years. Over the years, the band’s performance capabilities and quality have improved to the point of
performing technically difficult concert band literature. To maintain the quality of our performances, the
Centerville Community Band has implemented the following rehearsal attendance policy.
To be eligible to perform in a major performance, band members shall be required to attend at least 50% of the
rehearsals (including the dress rehearsal) during that performance cycle. Band members who do not meet these
eligibility requirements shall be notified by their Section Leader, a Conductor, or the Band Administrator, by
the date of the dress rehearsal.
We understand that special circumstances may arise that interfere with individual attendance. For special
circumstances, eligibility may be granted directly by the Band Conductor, the Associate Conductor, or the Board
of Directors, if requested prior to the dress rehearsal. Further special circumstances for ineligibility may
also be determined by the Conductors or the Board of Directors.
For the purposes of this policy,
Major Performances include:
Spring Concert (typically in April or May)
Americana Concert (typically the 3rd of July)
Summer Concert (typically at the end of July)
Winter Concert (typically in November or December)
A “Performance Cycle” Is defined as the time between Major Performances. The Spring Performance Cycle begins in
February of each calendar year.
